This is a fantastic book, not only for the insight it provides into the effects of corruption on security in the Third World, but also because it provides a glimpse of what our future holds here in the United States if we don't restore the rule of law. Could it be that our Congress gets so little done in a legislative session; routinely... Excellent well documented book which addresses the link between state corruption as the primary driver of insurgencies. This is very evident in Afghanistan where the average citizen is subjected to both the violence of the state and the endless bribes and payoffs that are extracted, who so abused finds that even the oppressiveness of... Really a great read. It focused more on foreign governments as opposed to the U.S. government, which allows the reader to draw his own conclusions about the influence of corruption on our own soil.
