In un crescendo di rivelazioni scopre che le scelte spesso bizzarre e crudeli, ma sempre assolutamente coerenti dell'anziana donna, affondano in un destino segnato dagli avvenimenti piú drammatici del Novecento. Pubblicato in Ungheria nel 1987, ma in qualche modo disperso negli anni della transizione politica, La porta è il romanzo che ha rivelato la piú grande scrittrice ungherese contemporanea.

It took me 10 days to read this book, which is unusual for me as I can read fairly quickly, especially when I really love a book.
